St. Mary English Medium School – ICSE, Kaotha - Pulgaon is a Catholic Educational Institution and it extends its selfless service to all the members of other communities without any discrimination. St. Mary English Medium School – ICSE, Kaotha – Pulgaon is a Christian Minority Educational Institution within the meaning of section 2(g) of the National Commission of Minority Educational Institutions Act 2004 and has been declared as a Minority Education Institution covered under Article 30 of the Constitution of India. It is under the religious jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chanda. The mission station was established in 1973 by Rev. Fr. Panthenus Pookatt CMI.
A visionary priest, Rev. Fr. Subin Kallampallil along with Missionary Sisters of Mary Immaculate (MSMI) started an expedition to uphold a new mission to begin a Pre - Primary School at the premises of Anand Bhavan, Kaotha - Pulgaon. Rt. Rev. Dr. Bishop Vijay Anand CMI, the Bishop of Chanda was its patron until he was succeeded by the present Bishop of Chanda, Mar Ephrem Nariculam.
Later, St. Mary Pre – Primary School burgeoned its wings to St. Mary English Medium School - ICSE, Kaotha - Pulgaon from classes I to X. The school follows the ICSE syllabus up to class X. We cannot forget the tireless efforts and initiatives of the pioneers which helped to the growth of the school. In the beginning, there were 53 students enrolled with four teaching and two non-teaching staff. In addition to its, we remember the contributions of MSMI Sisters who played a major role to bring up the school into new heights. The school made a steady progress under the guidance of the spectacular managers and impeccable principals.

We leave no stone unturned to make education more relevant to the present day, enabling the students to stand firm on their feet ready to meet the challenges of the times. In order to realise our vision, we committed ourselves to a new approach in our educational task. The ambience inside the campus is serene and salubrious which facilitates a proper environment for education and fruitful training of life. So the school attracted the city dwellers and the admissions of the school crossed 800 within a short span of time. This is possible only with God’s help and the united efforts of all concerned the management, the staff, the students and the parents.
Gradually many classrooms were added to the school building. The main building of the school was blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Bishop Ephrem Nariculam, Bishop of Chanda Diocese on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Anand Bhavan Mission Station, Kaotha on 11 November, 2023. Besides imparting education, the school aims at the flowering of the personality of each child giving expression to his or her hidden talents through - strict discipline. We try to make each child interiorize punctuality, hard work, honesty and dedication to the given duty. Various opportunities are open for the students in the field of Sports and Games, Literary and Cultural competitions. The newly constructed school building was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Bishop Ephrem Nariculam, Bishop of Chanda Diocese in the presence of Brigadier Kaushlesh Panghal, Commandant of CAD Pulgaon on the occasion of Meraki 2k23 – The Annual Day Celebration of our school, held on 03 December, 2023.
The only school which is affiliated to ICSE Syllabus at Kaotha - Pulgaon (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations), a globally recognized qualification, is a testament to its commitment with the best possible education. In addition to its academic programmes, we offer a range of extracurricular activities and facilities on our seven acres campus, including sports, music and art, that help students to explore their interests and develop new skills.

In 2023, St. Mary English Medium School – ICSE, Kaotha - Pulgaon is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), New Delhi.
